Artist's Statement
"My work is focused on creating, exploring
and developing music, which supports the use of acoustic hand crafted
instruments made of natural materials such as: the berimbao; shekere;
didjeridoo; bamboo and wooden flutes and hand drums. These
instruments were chosen for their natural blend and organic overtones,
which have the ability to connect the human experience to it's earthy
and spiritual counterparts. My method is largely improvisational
and is a culmination of my experiences as a student, an educator, a performer
and researcher of "world music". My music is grounded in
the traditional intent of polyrhythmic African and Native American
ritual and is infused with contemporary American culture."
